Join us to rock Shell to its core and stabilize the climate

Dear Friend, The Other 98 staff has been deeply embedded in the uprising against Shell’s Arctic oil rigs that has electrified the Pacific Northwest and is quickly becoming a national story. We’ve got an extra-special surprise for Shell that we need your help to build. We’re expecting to see Shell’s towering rigs arrive in Seattle sometime this week. In fact, Shell’s icebreaker, Aiviq, is already here in port. We’ve been hard at work, alongside our awesome local allies, training “Kayak-tivists” to meet Shell on the water. We’re preparing for the Paddle in Seattle (May 16th), a family-friendly flotilla around Shell’s rigs with as many as 1,000 paddlers expected! This action is growing fast, and it’s getting bigger than we had dared to hope. So we’re going to kick things up a notch with an extra ingredient: the People’s Platform. We’re building the People’s Platform to be the centerpiece of the Paddle in Seattle and our water-based actions. Please check out our awesome Indiegogo page to learn more and throw down. The People's Platform is an ordinary marine barge that we’re going to transform into a beautiful floating spectacle of clean energy and peaceful resistance. We’re adding solar and wind power systems (to show Shell how it’s done), as well as a giant projector to light up the night and expose Shell's horrendous track record in the Arctic.
