They will become stewards for our planet tomorrow

The Nature Conservancy
Inspire Youth in Nature

Dear Friend,

Do you remember the first time you were wowed by nature?

I, like many of you, have always loved the outdoors. But I'll never forget the amazement I felt when studying water samples and seeing first hand the power of a wetland to filter pollutants out of water.

At this moment, the next generation of environmental leaders is having a similar experience. All over the country, our LEAF interns -- Leaders for Environmental Action for the Future -- are engaged in our internship program for high school students.

View this interactive map to see where they are working and how they help to conserve nature.

For 20 years, the LEAF program has been devoted to engaging urban youth in conservation activities now so that they will become stewards for our planet tomorrow. Students spend their days alongside Conservancy scientists, participating in conservation activities like trailblazing, shellfish restoration, wildlife monitoring and the removal of invasive species.

Do you know how we're able to fund our LEAF program -- a program that inspires urban youth to be connected to the world around them? This work is possible because of you.

And you can help us continue to inspire our youth -- and grow our LEAF program -- today.

Wishing you many more nights under the stars,
