I really hope this fable of Aesop will serve them a lesson:

THE FLIES AND THE HONEYPOT

A family of flies found a honey-pot which had been upset and would not leave the spot while there was a single drop left.

After a while the honey-pot stuck to their feet and wings and they could not fly away.

Then they cried, “What stupid creatures we are! For a short hour’s pleasure we have thrown away our lives!”
