Four people were seriously injured and rushed to hospital while 28 others sustained minor to moderate injuries including smoke inhalation and burns. Sadly, two people died at the scene.
Two people were killed and 32 others injured when a double-decker Intercape bus was petrol bombed in Strand, Cape Town, on Tuesday night.
According to ER24, paramedics arrived at the scene to find the bus well alight. A number of people were standing around the vehicle being cared for by locals from a nearby informal settlement.

Sadly, two people died at the scene.
“Bystanders on the scene explained that emergency services were on the scene very quickly, however the bus was already engulfed in flames. Some of the bystanders explained that they initially thought that shacks were on fire. When they went to investigate they found the bus burning in the road,” said ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak.
Police have since opened a case of murder and attempted murder following the attack.
