BERSAMIN:COURT CLEANSING SHOULD START IN THE PROVINCES

Bersamin: Court cleansing should start in the provinces shared from Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin has underscored the need to start the crackdown against so-called “Hoodlums in Robes” in rural courts where perception of corruption was rampant. “Those judges and employees in the provinces who have contributed to this wrong perception about the judiciary will have to go,” Bersamin said. Bersamin has just ordered Court Administrator and SC spokesman Jose Midas Marquez to set the “purging” against court scalawags in motion, and start the cleansing in his home province, Abra. “I directed (Marquez) to start with (my) home province of Abra. That is a marching order… no matter if they are my relatives or not,” Bersamin said. COMMENTS 81 provinces The Provinces of the Philippines (Filipino: Mga Lalawigan ng Pilipinas/Mga Probinsya ng Pilipinas) are the primary political and administrative divisions of the Philippines.
