GarageBand Class Assignment 1
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Creating a 30 Second Score
"The Seventh Last Word"
In this project we are required to create a 30 second music score in GarageBand. I should have at least one loop and one section that is a software or real instrument that we created ourselves using musical typing, MIDI instrument or our own instrument and it can contain any other elements that we see fit.
Here we are not allowed to use Magic GarageBand.
We are told that it doesn't have a to be a beautiful perfectly constructed musical master piece. A score can be music that has a specific tune or loops that are placed together to make an interesting musical background that works with a video, movie, podcast etc that's playing. So using loops and then musical accompaniments like the Falling Star or Tambourines are acceptable as advised.
On my part I thought of creating a 30-second score for the Seventh Last Word of Jesus Christ, the art side of it, not taking into serious account of its religious relevance, simply I emphasize only the art component of it.
I found it fulfilling experimenting with a lot of sound combinations from sounds single instrument to a combo then to an orchestra and added some people and animal effects on it.
One great point that I remembered was when saving my sound tract I need to check the radio button on the side of the archive option so that I maybe able to open up my .band file in another mac computer. Failure to check that archive button will result to a message ,"The file couldn't be opened," while viewing it on another mac computer even if your file has .band extension on it.
However,
this issue still had to be evaluated again as there are instances that the problem
still persists though the archive button had been checked May I be allowed to expound on this later
after I have collected various observations regarding this topic. Meanwhile, please open the file
“Seventhastword1.band” using Adobe Creative Suite GB app.
When my project is completed I saved the native file (extension .band) in a folder with my last name_GB1. Next, I went to Share/Export Song to Disk. Choose MP3 Encoder and High Quality for compression and click Export. I navigated to the same folder named my files with my last name_GB1 and saved.

I submitted the entire folder with my native GarageBand File and my MP3 file along with my statement of purpose to the appropriate "afternoon" drop box.
Thank you very much.
