Airport workers have a story to tell. This is why they are standing up and fighting for $15 and a union. Over the last decades, airlines have outsourced many jobs, such as cabin cleaners, baggage handlers, wheelchair agents and others. Their contractors often pay the people who work for them far too little to get by. Airline profits have soared, but many of the people whose work helps provide those profits struggle to raise a family because their contractors won’t pay a livable wage. That’s why airport workers are fighting back and demanding the right to stick together in a union. Our airports should benefit us all, not just a few airline executives.
