Travel Costs Would Go Up; Travel Safety Could Go Down; Jobs Will Be Lost
Dear Friend,
Millions of Americans will get on airplanes during this holiday season. Workers at the FAA's Air Traffic Control (ATC) keep our nation's skies safe for air passengers. When it comes to air safety, the ATC is second to none.
But the Republicans in Congress want to change that: they want to privatize the air traffic control system.
A privatized air traffic control system would mean decreased oversight, loss of jobs for Americans, and higher costs for airline passengers. Rural communities that rely on smaller airports for revenue would lose significant business. Tell Congress not to privatize the air traffic control system.
Republicans want to ring in the new year by introducing legislation in January that would privatize the air traffic control system. That means that in a couple of weeks, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will be taking up the issue and they need to hear from you!

This is a national security issue. The ATC works incredibly hard to keep our airways safe from threats and prevent tragedies from occurring. Without that oversight, a deregulated, privatized air traffic control system would leave the safety of millions of passengers up in the air.
Thank you.
