iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove wants to keep dolphins singing. And just days after the Obama administration took another step forward to allowing deafening seismic airgun blasts looking for oil and gas deposits off the Atlantic coast, the dolphins she loves are in trouble.
Plans to allow seismic blasts in Atlantic waters put tens of thousands of dolphins, whales, and other wildlife at risk of injury, hearing loss or death. After more than 100,000 Oceana supporters petitioned various government agencies and officials, the government is still pushing forward, with their latest statement allowing seismic airgun blasts being released just last week.
Miranda Cosgrove has joined with Oceana to release a PSA about this threat to our oceans, and we urge you to watch, share, and then take action to tell President Obama, Secretary Jewell, and his administration that these blasts must be stopped.
The Obama administration continues to move forward with their plan to expand drilling despite our pleas for them to listen to the science and stop. So now we're asking President Obama and the Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell to take charge and stop these plans, for the sake of our coasts and Atlantic wildlife.
Dolphins can't survive without their songs, and our lives would dramatically change without healthy oceans. Join with us and Miranda today to fight for a safe and quiet Atlantic and keep dolphins and whales safe from seismic airgun blasts.
Watch the video and tell your friends to take action for dolphins.
For the dolphins,
